Amsoil Synthetic Motor Oils
Since AMSOIL introduced the first synthetic motor oil in 1972 people have been saving thousands with longer vehicle life, reduced oil consumption and remarkable increases in mileage.
AMSOIL's premium synthetic engine oils enable extended oil drain intervals of up to 25,000 miles, depending on the exact oil you choose. If you're changing your oil every 3000 miles, or even 5000 miles, you are probably wasting a lot of money and generating a lot more waste oil than you need to.
The top reason people look for AMSOIL in industrial and automotive applications is because of
the significant reduction of failures and downtime, increased dependability with added performance and saved energy you can measure.
Learn more about extended oil change intervals. Most of AMSOIL's products are specifically designed to
be left in service for much longer intervals than conventional petroleum lubricants. It is time to update our thinking, embrace new technology, and move into the next era of automotive maintenance.
Even if you are not a do-it-yourselfer, remember that most quick-lube stores will allow you to bring your own oil and filter for
them to install. (Just don't expect a huge discount off their price, since the oil they normally use only costs them a few cents per quart.)
Is synthetic oil right for me?
The simple answer to this question is probably YES! But sometimes it isn't! Synthetic oil is NOT right for your vehicle if any of the following are true:
- You are on a low-mileage lease, only drive a few thousand miles per year, and don't plan to keep the car long term. You won't realize the benefits of synthetic oils in this vehicle.
- Your engine is very high mileage and either leaks or burns a lot of oil. For this engine, just use the cheap stuff and keep it topped up.
In virtually every other situation, the superior performance and longevity of synthetic oil makes it cheaper to use in the long run. Simply, it lowers the total cost of ownership (TCO)
of your vehicle.
Do you have a modified, high-peformance engine? There are some things you should
know about anti-wear additives in motor oils - specifically zinc. You may not be providing adequate
protection for your valvetrain. Read the technical
service bulletin to learn more about ZDDP and the role it plays in
anti-wear protection in high-performance engines, especially those with a flat-tappet design.

Below we list most of the best selling automotive oils and lubes. There are three lines of motor oil: Signature Series, XL, and OE. The Signature Series oil is
designed for extended drain intervals of up to 25,000 miles. XL is a little lower cost and is designed for drain intervals of 10,000 miles. OE is the lowest cost option
and is designed for factory-schedule oil change intervals. In other words, if your owner's manual calls for 7500 mile changes and you don't
plan to extent that, the OE oil will be fine. It still gives superior protection for your engine - it just doesn't have the additive package to go to the longer intervals.
It's also bid appropriate for most public and private purchasing bids.
